Hardee Fresh was founded in 2016 to design, construct, commission, own, and operate customized indoor growing facilities for the production of organic vegetables. The first such facility is now operational in a ~50,000 square foot building on a 9-acre site in Wauchula, Florida. The Company is now constructing a new, larger facility in Americus, Georgia. The company’s current product offering includes a wide range of leafy green vegetables and microgreens all grown, packed, cooled, and shipped onsite from a USDA Certified Organic facility, and also carries the industry’s highest food safety certifications for farming and food processing. This new facility that will expand both the depth and breadth of the company’s product offering. Role and Responsibilities

The Operations Manager will be hired while the Georgia facility is under construction. The Operations Manager will assist the company’s management in the oversight of the construction, engineers, and contractors building the facility, and in managing the installation and commissioning of some of the farming and irrigation equipment by the company’s employees. The Operations Manager would be expected to identify, hire, and manage these internal employees during construction. Following construction, the Operations Manager will have primary responsibility for hiring and managing the staff required for conducting each of the major operational functions of the facility, including agriculture, operations, processing, shipping/logistics, cleaning/sanitation, and facility maintenance. The Operations Manager would be expected to facilitate and implement these decisions via written and oral communications to management and staff. The Operations Manager would report to and coordinate with the President of the company on a daily basis, but nevertheless must be self-motivated and able to identify problems and initiate solutions. The Operations Manager will be working in a fast-paced dynamic environment which will require the ability to report and make decisions in real time and be available outside of working hours as the need arises or in emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills both written and oral, ability to read/write English, bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Ability to learn, absorb, and implement new technologies quickly
• Strong technical knowledge of major systems used in indoor farming, including but not limited to: hydroponic systems, irrigation, lighting, low voltage controls, material handling, etc.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite of programs, and the ability to quickly learn new programs utilized for daily operations
• Ability to identify and qualify vendors, contractors, and other service providers across a range of industries
• Experience with crew/personnel management in a food, agricultural, logistics, or manufacturing operation
• Extensive experience in staffing up new business lines or units
• Able to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Able to work at heights and tight spaces, traverse stairs regularly
• Must be able to carry/ lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have flexible work schedule, ability to work weekends or off-hours as needed.
